Sam Wilbanks is a graduate student, poet, and writer in the low Appalachian range of Northeast Alabama. Having recently lost their young wife, much of their work currently centers on grief, hope, and what comes after tragedy. Sam has been published in small journals previously like Hedera Helix and Talented. Having taken a hiatus from writing to process grief, they are reemerging into the literary world by pursuing an MFA in creative writing and submitting works to local and other literary journals.
